BGCWC Announces New Executive Director

Hello Parents and Club Members,

I wanted to take a brief moment to introduce myself to you as your new Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Washington County. This great opportunity allows me to return home to the county in which I live and serve the community I love!  After 22 years of experience in public education and the last 9 years as an elementary principal, it was time for a change.

My husband Randy Burnworth and I share a small farm in Whipple, Ohio. I have a daughter who works with horses and is currently working the summer in Alaska. Randy has three children who have blessed us with five grandchildren and numerous fur-babies. Outside of work, I am a member of the Marietta Noon Lion’s Club, enjoy working with the many animals on our farm including horses and goats, and enjoy hunting.

Angie, Garrett, Jenna and the rest of the staff have been so welcoming as I settle in to my new position. I have an open door policy and welcome you in to say hi or to talk about ways we can help the Club together. It is true that “Great Futures Start Here” as I continue the next chapter of my career serving children and families in and around Washington County.

Sincerely Yours,

Rebecca “Becca” Johnson
