Trick-or-Treat Dates/Times

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, trick-or-treat plans in much of the area are still uncertain. While Halloween plans are still scheduled to go forward in many locations throughout the area, cities are continuing to monitor the public health situation and plans may be changed. Below are the current trick-or-treat plans for area cities. WTAP will continue to provide additional information as it becomes available.

Ohio

  • Athens: October 31, 5:30 P.M. - 6:30 P.M.

  • Belpre: October 31, 6 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.

  • Caldwell: October 29, 6 P.M. - 7 P.M. Families are asked to wear face masks, social distance, and carry hand sanitizer. Children at a greater COVID-19 risk are asked to stay home. It is recommended that all candy be sanitized at home before being eaten.

  • Marietta: October 31, 6:30 P.M. - 8 P.M.

  • McConnelsville: October 31, 5:30 P.M. - 7 P.M.

West Virginia

  • Belmont: October 31, 5:30 P.M. - 6:30 P.M.

  • Cairo: There will be no regular Halloween party, but the city will host a socially distanced trick-or treat with masks on October 31, 5 P.M. - 7 P.M.

  • Harrisville: Plans will be determined at the council meeting on October 13.

  • Parkersburg: October 31, 6 P.M. - 7:30 P.M. The annual first responders' Trunk-or-Treat has been canceled.

  • Pennsboro: A Trunk-or-Treat event will be held on October 31 from 5:30 P.M. - 7 P.M. at the race track, or on Firehouse Dr. in the case of rain. Masks will be required.

  • Ravenswood: October 31, 6 P.M. - 8 P.M.

  • Ripley: There will be a Freaky 5K Run at 9 A.M., a Chocolate Festival from 10 A.M. - 2 P.M, and Trick-or-Treat 6 P.M. - 7:30 P.M. The city will be asking residents to turn on porch lights as an indicator they wish to participate and come to edge of their lawns to keep flow of foot traffic going faster. Residents are also asked to hand out pre-wrapped treats, and children will be encouraged to to decorate face masks, not to wear costume masks.

  • St. Mary’s: The Boys & Girls Club of Pleasants County will be hosting Halloween events on October 31. Trick-or-treat will be held 5:30 P.M. - 6:30 P.M., and at 7:30 there will be a modified block party including a haunted house and haunted trail.

  • Vienna: October 31, 6 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.

  • Williamstown: October 31, 6 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.
