Virtual BGCWC

BGCWC is now doing online programming to keep our kids engaged with Club activities during the statewide closure of schools. We will be using Google Classroom to post programs/assignments for kids to do at home.

THIS IS NOT MANDATORY. Rather, these assignments and programs will be rewarded with coupons to local restaurants and other prizes. Using Google Classroom will allow Club kids to connect with the other students at the Club as well as the Staff.

Some of the things that you will see include:

  • Staff reading children’s books for kids to listen and read along with

  • Staff created cooking videos

  • Staff created dance videos

  • Link to resources throughout Washington County to help with assistance of all sorts

  • And More

All of this, we hope, will allow kids to connect with the other Club kids as well as staff - while at the same time, getting them up and moving, getting their nose out of social media, and keeping their mind engaged.

Here are a couple things to keep in mind:

  1. Students will need a Gmail account to access Google Classroom. This email must end in “@gmail.com”.

  2. If you feel that your child(ren) are not old enough or responsible enough, they may use a parents Gmail account so that they can only access Classroom when you give them permission.

    1. If you are okay with your student having a Google account: Create One Here if they don’t already have one.

Joining Google Classroom:

  1. First you will need to login to the Google account that you have selected/created. This will be the account you use to login each time to access Classroom.

  2. Then go to classroom.google.com, and click the + button on the top right of the screen.

  3. Next you will need to enter this code: “urol6cf

  4. After you have joined the class, please click here to complete a signup form.

  5. Done!
